After nine straight months my internship at Wuxi Fun Gifts Manufacturing has ended. If I look back at what I was looking forward to when I just arrived here till the last day I had worked (July 7th, 2007), I can say that I have learned a lot on different facets. I had my ups and downs within this period of working, but I’m glad that there were more ups than downs. Especially during the last few months I really had the feeling that I was a part of the team and that I could mean something for the company. My efforts at IQC had significance and that meant a lot to me. It did me good that people appreciated the work that I was doing. For that reason, it also made it hard to say goodbye to those people. Last week I got a painting from my colleagues with messages written on the backside. Yesterday there was a bowling competition for which I made the preparations with help of some colleagues. 60 colleagues from work participated in this competition, there were 10 teams and every team had their own shirt in different colors. Each team had also a name, named after figures from printing cards, you had: the Hoops, the Yoyo’s, the Diva’s, the Chickens, The Bears, etc. It was quite a success. Too bad I didn’t win anything, but it was fun organizing it.
Today, my main focus is on getting my stuff ready for departure. My parents, brothers and sister are coming to China within two days. I’m going to meet them in Shanghai and then we’ll head for Qingdao. At the end of July I’ll be back in Holland. I’m wondering if much has changed…
